Lume Calumet is a collaboration between partners Keely and Matthew, and the many plants they tend as they co-create together. Keely founded Lume Calumet in 2017 and is responsible for the majority of what you see shared online, but her work and offerings through LC would not be possible without her husband Matt.
Keely is an artist and maker living with a rare neuromuscular disorder called Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, or TOS for short. Her journey with TOS informs her life and work as much as her love of Nature does, so you will hear her speak about it often. Keely is passionate about the natural world and conservation, building sustainability in all we do, creating systems of collective care, dogs, and raising butterflies to name a few.
Matthew is a graphic designer, portrait artist, woodworker, guitar player, and the muscle behind the big projects at LC. His Buddhist studies inform his life philosophy, and he has a deep love of the natural world as well.
Keely and Matt live and work together in southern Appalachia with their three rescue dogs Leia, Olive, and Tiki. When they aren’t tending the garden or working on rewilding a slice of suburbia you can usually find them playing fetch with the dogs in the yard.
